curiosities about pole dancing

Behind every figure, a story: explore the secrets of pole dancing.

Pole dance mania: le curiosità che stanno facendo il giro del mondo

1. You dance… on your skin

No long pants: bare skin is needed to grip the bar. For this reason, pole dancers often wear shorts and tight-fitting tops, not for aesthetics, but for technical reasons. To perform many moves, the skin must adhere to the pole, but sweat can cause slipping. Therefore, pole dancers often use natural resins, grip sprays, or powders to improve their grip.

2. An "aerial" variant has also been created

There's Pole Aerial, a fusion of pole dance and aerial disciplines (such as hoops or silks): it's danced on a suspended pole, without a fixed base. It requires even more strength and technique.

3. Technique is fundamental

Each figure has a creative and international name: "Superman," "Jasmine," "Gemini," "Ayesha," "Fireman," "Jade Split," and "Butterfly," and follows a precise technical method. And each figure has different entrances, exits, and stylistic variations. It's not improvised: it's studied, practiced, and perfected.

4. There is such a thing as "pole comedy"

Some artists have combined pole dance with comic theater, creating ironic, self-deprecating, or satirical performances... all suspended on a pole! It's a form of pole art that's highly regarded at international festivals.

5. Even tattoos have a history

Many pole dancers tell the story of their personal evolution with symbolic tattoos tied to specific tricks, competitions won, or challenges overcome: every move can become an indelible moment.
